Description
Facades suffer expansions and contractions, caused mainly by thermal gradients, seasonal and daily, which the facade orientationand the coating colour influence on. Therefore it is necessary the installation of expansion joints and elements that permit the movement and decrease the shear efforts between support and coating, avoiding distortions in the installation. In the other side, the weakening of the tiles on making the angle is the main cause of breaks and premature aging of the tiled corners. Therefore, they are fragile zones and sensible to the mechanical efforts.
Emac solves this problem creating the Novojunta Pilastra, in order to absorb the movements, giving also a good superficial finish, perfect to cover and protect the internal angle of corners covered with marble, natural stone or ceramic material. Its dispositin in the corners allows a more homogenous distribution of the rest of expansion joints, helping to obtain more symmetrical finishing. The joint is available for two sizes of coating material: for tiles with 10mm thickness, or for tiles with 15mm thickness.
Material: Aluminium + EPDM
Length: 250cm – 8' 2"
Packaging: 10 units / box
ALLOWED MOVEMENT
It allows movements of +/- 1'2 mm in each edge and its absorption capacity is appropriated to support expositions to great thermal changes in several applications.

Thermal change *2 : 69oC
*1 Movement refers a one edge.
*2 The thermal change has been calculated considering a installation with thermal expansion coefficient of 0,007mm oC/m and placed the joints each 5m.
