Description

This expansion joint is composed by two aluminium profiles and a central part made of technical agglomerated cork of 20mm. Its main function is to avoid the accumulation of pressings, caused by the expansions and contractions of the pavement or wall, due to the thermal changes.

This expansion joint allows offering technical as well as decorative solutions, adapting itself to a wide variety of ambiences and decorative styles.

Sustainability: this product is based on a raw material totally natural and renewable: the cork, which promotes and supports an ecosystem (the one of the cork oak) of which depend a wide quantity of species. It is protected by a protector film so that it guarantees its functionality and better appearance once installation is finished.

OUTDOOR INSTALLATION

Emac's Natural Technical Cork is made with natural granulated cork. This natural cork can loose in a gradual and homogenous way its initial color due to the UV radiation, becoming a more whitish color. To maintain its original finishing it is recommended not to install outdoors.

WOODEN FLOOR APPLICATIONS

For glued parquet and floating laminate floorings, the dilation joints that have to be installed, have to be able to absorb the movements of swelling and diminishing of the wood. The Novojunta Metal Cork absorbs adequately these movements and mimics in a surprising way with this kind of pavement. This way you acquire a perfect finishing and a technical solution which responds in an adequate way to the requested requirements. The minimum width of the dilation joints in these wooden floors has to be 10mm, perimetral joints have to be disposed with a minimum width of 5mm and movement of +/- 1mm.

ELASTICITY – the cell membrane of this material have a great capacity to support a huge tension without suffering permament deformities.

THERMAL, ACOUSTIC AND VIBRATORY INSULATOR – multi-purpose insulator, especially for the thermal and acoustic isolation. Its ability to provide acoustic insulation, gives solutions to impact noise.

FIRE RESISTANCE – It is a material that has difficult or impossible combustion with some and specific treatments. Also the cork, natural or agglomerated , does not dislodge toxic vapors when it burns.

DIMENSIONAL STABILITY, facing humidity and temperature changes.

CHEMICAL AGENTS RESISTANCE

Alkaline cleaning products that attack the rubber or tghe cork must be avoided, as they could make it darker and dissolve it.

ALLOWED MOVEMENT

Novojunta Metal – Cork allows contraction movements of 2'3mm and dilation up to 4'5mm. Its absorptive capacity enables it to respond smoothly to thermal variation exposures with differences up to 194^oC, and its elasticity allows it to withstand high pressures without permanent deformation.

Thermal change = 194^oC

The thermal change has been calculated considering an installation with thermal expansion coefficient of 0,007 mm^oC / m and the joints placed each 5m.
